  • The CIA World Factbook contains information about the people, geography with maps and flags, economy, defense and transportation, and more about almost every country on earth.
  • The British Foreign and Commonwealth Consular Division produces a range of material intended to advise and inform British citizens travelling abroad. See especially the specific travel advice notices on over 130 countries.
  • Lookup Google Directories for information on almost any country in the world.
  • Yahoo presents Regional Directories of Web Resources for virtually every country in the world.
  • CitySearch, offers a page for numerous cities with links to websites for general country information, culture and language, lodging, maps, health, local education and more. It carries present weather, and a variety of useful travel related articles.
  • The World Travel Guide Online presents information for virtually every country. Included is basic travel information, lodging, climate, business, basic visa information and more.
  • Travigator offers country information on some 75 countries and most U.S. States as well as a great deal of general travel information.
  • CNN's Travel Guide offers country and city information worldwide along with timely news, bargains and travel hotspots.
  • Readers Digest's Looksmart offers resources for most countries. Start at Travel & Vacations and Search by Country to enter your choice or after choosing Traveling Overseas (or in North America) try Country Destinations and then find your country.
  • Travel.org is a fine resource on over 100 countries that features recent reports by travellers as well as the standard stuff ...
  • The Info Hub is a general purpose travel resource with pages for almost every country in the world with general country information, accommodation, tips and links. In addition there are special purpose tours, travel planning information and more.
  • The Interknowledge Travel Network offers a variety of information on countries worldwide. Many of their pages are the official sites of the country tourist board.
  • Travel for Kids - A family travel guide for planning trips with kids in Europe, North America, South America and Africa.

  • Arab Net is the online resource for some two dozen arab countries in the Middle East and North Africa. The site contains an overview of each country, travel information, history, culture, government, transport, geography and business sections.
  • Asian Net is for the ten major countries of the Far East. It covers Business, Government, Education, and Arts and Culture.
  • The Central Eurasia Resource Pages covers history, government, business, environment, travel information, latest news for the countries of this region.
  • Travel Asia, your cyberguide to travel in Asia', offers country information and general information about Asia.
  • The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), is the recognised authority on Pacific Asia travel and tourism. PATA provides marketing, research and educational opportunities to a membership of government tourist offices, airlines, hotels, travel agencies, tour operators and related companies.

  • Tourism Offices Worldwide claims to list all official government tourism offices!
  • The Xenon Currency Converter converts between most of the world's currencies. The Travel Shop also offers a comprehensive chart to convert most world currencies into one of the hard currencies.
